Professor Gao Qi
Professor Gao Qi (MD/PhD) is chair of the National Malaria Expert Committee and co-chair of National Severe Malaria Diagnosis & Treatment Expert Committee of China. He is an Adviser of the WHO Collaborative Centre for Research and Training on Malaria Elimination, a Senior Professor at the Jiangsu Institute of Parasitic Diseases, and a Professor at Suzhou University. He has been a Member of the WHO Malaria Policy Advisory Committee (MPAC). He has also served on the Global Fund Technical Review Panel for malaria, and as Co-Chair of the Surveillance and Response Working Group of the Asia Pacific Malaria Elimination Network (APMEN). Prof. Gao Qi was Director of the Jiangsu Institute of Parasitic Diseases and Director of the National Key Laboratory of Parasitic Diseases of the Ministry of Health of China from 2005 to 2013. He was the Chair of the DDT Expert Group of the Stockholm Convention at the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), and Chair of APMEN Advisory Board Committee. He has worked on both malaria research and field control since 1983, and has wide experience on malaria control and elimination at sub-national, national and international levels.
